The Motley III Collection by Samuel Chan for Channels

Stunning unique contemporary furniture and lighting furniture collection called The Motley III Collection is exhibited by British design firm Channels at 100% Design in London. Motley III is a series of ten new furniture and lighting designs by Samuel Chan for Channels. The furniture that have been being exhibited including Floor/ Pendant Lamp, Egg Chair, Baton Chair, Pallet Drawer System cabinet, Pallet Shelf System cabinet, Voyage Chair, Oval Dining Table, Round Dining Table, and Side Tables. All the furniture work presents wood in a bold and simple way that requires no further embellishment. The designs demand the most exacting hand-finished craft while introducing new manufacturing processes so giving this most traditional of materials a strong contemporary expression. via

Floor/ Pendant Lamp
This freestanding lamp series comes in three sizes and introduces an organic form made from solid curved oak batons on a trunk like base. Central cylinder of frosted glass gives diffused light. A Pendant version of the lamp is also available, using the organic form only and evocative of a lantern.

Egg
Sculptural, egg-shaped forms turned in solid Ash. Subtly scooped seat. Presented in two configurations.

Baton Chair
Round Chair on low revolving base. Made from hand-carved batons of solid Oak.
Scooped seat upholstered in wool felt.

Pallet Drawer System
A series of stackable drawer units, available in six different drawer configurations. Combine the different options as you like to build your bespoke storage cabinet. Stacks without the use of additional fittings. Drawers open on push catches.

Pallet Shelf System
A series of stackable shelf units, available in six configurations. Combine the different options as you like. Stacks without the use of additional fittings.

Voyage Chair
Oak-veneered bent plywood chair on trapeziumshaped solid frame.
Lightly upholstered seat in wool felt.

Oval Dining Table
Oak wood tabletop featuring glass covered ‘portholes’ to reveal the woodworking detail of the tripod base.

Round Dining Table
